Making a difference... One dog at a time

UPDATE Maximus has just been on a home trial which sadly didn’t work out. In kennels Maxi is an affectionate laid back boy but clearly there was something  in his past in a ‘home’ which triggered off anxiety.  We know that he had been left outside and basically ignored, but we don’t know what has upset him so much being in a house.  When he woke from sleeping he became defensive and stressed, pacing and panting and much as the family wanted to work through this with him, with two small children this wasn’t possible.

So we are looking for a real hero to rescue Maximus and to patiently see him through the transition from a safe kennel into a home environment.  It won’t be easy, and only really committed fosterers should apply who can keep him until he’s ready and able to rehome.  Our behaviourist will, of course,  be available to help and advise.  Maximus is at his happiest with another dog but obviously it needs to be a child and cat free home.

Could it be you?   Ideally living in Shropshire so we can be immediately available to help with ongoing issues.  Behaviourist support paid for by FFH.

INITIAL ASSESSMENT IN KENNELS This beautiful boy is Maximus – he is just 4 years old, and a real fabulous dog and all he wants is to be loved – he has not had a great past and due to a relationship breakdown was forced to live outside without much interaction so he will need a loving home who understands his needs and can be around for him a lot to begin with at least.

He is great with people, loves to be fussed, and can live with nice children who know how to behave around dogs – especially if they also know how to throw and ball and can tickle behind his ears! He has always met people really nicely and is a very loving dog – craving affection in return.

He is great with other dogs, large and small, and we feel he would be happiest living with another dog if possible as that is what he is used to and would enjoy the company.

He is a very handsome boy, and is only in rescue due to a relationship breakdown as this meant he was not getting all the time and attention he truly deserves – hence we want to make sure he gets that now in a home with company around a lot. Great temperament and will make someone a fantastic pet. Best to avoid cats as his assessments have been unpredictable.

He is neutered, vaccinated and waiting in our kennels in SHREWSBURY in Shropshire to meet you. Please complete the enquiry form if you have an amazing home to offer to this amazing boy. Maximus is a great all rounder and will tick a lot of boxes if you are looking for a friendly and loving family dog.
